Can you cheat on Proctorio?
Students are using HDMI cables and hidden phones to cheat on exams administered through invasive proctoring software like Proctorio.
How do you know if Proctorio flagged?
Each exam contains everything you asked Proctorio to record, such as video, audio, screen, and student identity verification. When Proctorio has flagged potentially suspicious activity, these activities will be indicated in red along the recording timeline.
How do I know if Proctorio is working?
Make sure you are using the Chrome browser. Check to see that the Proctorio extension shield is dark grey. If it is light grey, it means the extension has not activated. If it has not activated, give it a few more seconds to see if it darkens.
Will Proctorio kick you out?
If you go against Proctorio rules set by your instructor, such as navigating away from the quiz, it is possible to be kicked out of the exam if your instructor has enabled a setting to do so.
Will Proctorio kick me out?
Proctorio should not simply kick a student out of the exam, unless something has gone seriously wrong. As soon as you are able, attempt to access the exam and continue. Your exam will still be available, unless your allotted time in Canvas has run out.
Can Proctorio see if you use your phone?
Proctorio is VPAT certified, 508 compliant, and fully accessible to those with disabilities. However, the software captures eye, head, and mouth movements, talking to self, pacing, and may flag the use of a screen reader or other devices which may be reported as “suspicious”.
Can ProctorU tell if you are cheating?
You will be monitored and recorded during your exam to make sure that no one has any unfair advantages while testing. If cheating is suspected, I’ll be notified and will have video evidence of your session.
Can ExamSoft detect cheating?
ExamSoft does not “accuse” anyone of cheating, nor does ExamSoft “flag for cheating.” The software and the human reviewers are there to help the exam administrator focus and save time. During in-person exams, there is often a proctor in the exam room, watching exam-takers as they complete the test.
