Where are Turritopsis Dohrnii found?
Turritopsis dohrnii was first discovered in the Mediterranean Sea, but has since spread worldwide. T. dohrnii generally found living in temperate to tropical waters. They can be found in marinas or docks, vessel hulls, and the bottom (ocean floor).
How are Turritopsis nutricula different from salamanders?
Unlike other animals, like salamanders that regenerate a specific part of their bodies, Turritopsis nutricula returns itself to its polyp stage of development, reattaches to a piece of coral, etc. and starts life again. Generations of their offspring remain to grow, too.
