Where to study Sociology in Spain?

Below is a list of the Spanish universities where you can study Sociology. The list has been drawn from the table published in the White paper (2005) Title of Degree in Science Policy and Administration, Sociology, and Public Management and Administration, elaborated by the ANECA (National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation) for the design of the studies of degree, and where it was collected by the participating universities in the NETWORK for the school years that fall between the courses 1999-2000 and 2004-2005. Have been included, in addition, since they were not referred to in the white paper, other Spanish universities where it is taught, the Degree of Sociology.¹

Most of the Faculties of the Spanish school offering a bachelor’s Degree in Sociology often have their own web page. Attached the direct links to the studies of Sociology by each university. 2. (Until the day of today (19/02/2015), the undergraduate studies of Sociology at the URJC continue. The courts ampararon to the degree programme of Sociology at the URJC and shut down the proposed suspension by the governing Council of URJC precautionary measures in July 2014. As we reported in the Blog of the Association of castilla-la Mancha of Sociology (ACSM.is | 15/08/14), in February 2014, the governing Council of URJC agreed to proceed with the closing of the offer of degree of Degree of Sociology (together to other 9 degrees more); pointed to lack of students, lack of economic viability, other considerations are subjective and an opinion, in this sense, the Social Council of the rey juan carlos. On the 5th day of march, filed a notice OF APPEAL in which they challenged such decision on the grounds that the reasons and procedures were or were fake or irregular. Equally, teachers of the URJC belonging to the area of Sociology, made public a Manifesto in Defense of the continuity of the studies of Degree of Sociology at the URJC (Also released in Cisolog). When later, in June of 2014, there was the offer of degrees for the course 2014-2015, the undergraduate studies of Sociology were not among them, but not even up to the current date, the Community of Madrid has expressed agreement or decision, favourable to such suppression. We proceeded immediately to request legal remedy that suspends such a decision of the governing Council of URJC, by understanding which damaged seriously both the legal system, the academic needs and the rights of the students. On the 28th day of July 2014, the Court of administrative litigation no. 17 of Madrid, made public the INTERIM MEASURES of protection that had paralysed the decision of fact of the rey juan carlos not to proceed to offer the degree. In the court ruling dismissing the argument of the legal representatives of the URJC and he expressed himself with clarity that it should suspend the suspension of fact that had been carried out. Of time, and up to the date of today (19/02/2015) the legal battle in defense of the Sociology studies at the rey juan carlos is in progress. [↩]

4. Currently does not exist in the University of Deusto (UD) offer of degree of Sociology. Previously the Faculty of Political Sciences and Sociology of the same university he held the degree of Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.
