What stands ted for?
TED stands for Technology, Entertainment, Design — three broad subject areas that are collectively shaping our world. But a TED conference is broader still, showcasing important research and ideas from all disciplines and exploring how they connect.

Is Ted ed a credible source?
Accuracy and transparency. At TED, we strive to present science in a way that is both compelling and 100% credible. Scientific claims by our speakers should be based on data that has survived scrutiny by experts in the field.
Is Ted Talks liberal or conservative?
Some speakers have suggested that their live talks didn’t become TED Talks because of a bias against their political stance. In truth, TED is nonpartisan and we do our best to post talks that will contribute to a productive conversation.
What makes Ted successful?
The best TED and TEDx research talks focus on practical, real-world insights. Most academic research is too specialized for a general audience, but if you’re working on a project with broad implications, apply!
How much does it cost to host a TED talk?
The conference costs $10,000 to attend, though there are $5,000 tickets available to select first-timers. In addition to the talks there are all sorts of indulgent experiences, buffets, and workshops to keep attendees occupied. I showed up at the 2018 TED conference to check it all out. Here’s what it’s like.
How long does a TED talk have to be?
18 minutes
What is a TED talk speech?
TED-style talks are delivered without notes, from memory. THEY ARE NOT, as some people think, spontaneous; far from it! They are scripted and carefully rehearsed, often for months (or famously, in Susan Cain’s case, for a year). In contrast, most business presenters use notes to deliver their speeches.
