Can canvas see what you look up?
They can’t track what you’re viewing, but they can check if you’re viewing the test and if you’ve clicked out of the test. Theoretically you’d have zero reason to leave the test at all. Also, instructors can look at your canvas profile and see if you open it with another device.
Does canvas Track your browser?
Ideally, Canvas cannot detect if a student opened new tabs in a web browser or opened a new application or web browser during a quiz or test. However, if proctored, Canvas will monitor and prevent student’s browser activity. In such proctoring, the general interactions with the site can be viewed by professors.

For those of you that may not know, GoFormative will tell you that something has been copied and pasted. This helps cut down on cheating. I will probably let my students know that cheating in this program is tracked and notifies us.

It’s a Chromebook monitoring platform that allows the teacher to see every active screen in the classroom.
What can teachers see on formative?
After students finish their questions in a Formative assessment, teachers can see every student’s answer to a particular question. Teachers can display those answers to the class without showing names or grades assigned to them.
Can GoFormative see if you copy and paste?
Formative lets you know when students have copied and pasted parts of their responses to questions. The alert will not appear if a student copies and pastes a part of their own response. Only outside items. Teacher discretion is required for this alert, so we never auto-grade these responses as incorrect.
Does GoFormative track time?
Formative currently does not have a mechanism in place to track time on a specific question. You could set an open time on the assignment and then see when they submitted it.
What can GoFormative do?
Ability to create multimedia-rich lessons with just a few clicks. Not only does GoFormative allow you to include a wide variety of question types, you can also embed all sorts of media. It is almost an “if it is on the web, you can add it to a Formative”.
