A two year term of service is enough time to test the waters and see if the military is something you would like to do longer as a career. The training received alone in these first two years can be worth a lifetime of a career training for your future.
Does the Air Force fly for free?
Flights are typically free of charge, but you should contact your closest Air Mobility Command, or AMC, passenger terminal or the terminal at the location you intend to depart from for specific information. Most terminals have a Facebook page where they post flight information, including their 72-hour flight schedule.
Do you have to swim in Air Force basic training?

Do you come home after Air Force basic training?
The Air Force doesn’t grant leave, or real vacation time, following Air Force Basic Military Training. On the Monday following graduation, you’ll process out of basic training and proceed directly to your technical school.

You will be able to purchase tickets for dinner upon arrival at Family Day. Your Soldier will receive an ON-POST pass, meaning they can’t leave the base, and will need to arrive back to their barracks by 8pm.

If install correctly, we were able to call home on the pay phones to schedule family day and graduation. They will give soldiers ample opportunity to arrange for family to watch them graduate. If you are not family that will be visiting, you may not hear from them until after graduation.
