Why do you love being an art teacher?
I can’t imagine my life without teaching. I love the fact that I’m able to share my love of art with my students and help them grow as artists and creative thinkers. Teaching has added purpose and meaning to my life. Art teachers–all of us–fill a world that sometimes can be all to gray with vibrant color.

What makes a good art teacher?
The great art teacher has an accurate sense of their strengths and weaknesses and personality. They know their preferred communication style and aware of how they typically ‘come off’ with students and colleagues. The great art teacher’s awareness of their students makes them incredibly effective educators.

What do you learn in fine arts?
Fine art programs typically combine a mixture of theoretical and practical course elements to nurture students in developing their own artistic work. Usually fine art students specialize in one or several media, such as painting, sculpture, photography, film, animation, illustration, printmaking or ceramics.
How many hours should I practice drawing?
It’s possible to see improvements by drawing only 1-2 hours per day. But if you want to see significant improvements you should be aiming for 5-6 hours per day, or more if possible. Starting anywhere is better than never starting.
