What is the journal in seesaw?
Seesaw journals are private by default. No student content or information is ever shared without your explicit request. Journals are only accessible to teachers, students in the class, and a student’s family if the teacher chooses to invite them.
Can students see each other’s journals in seesaw?
If you want students to be able to see journals, you have two options: Turn ‘Students can see each other’s work’ ON. Students can see their own journal (and other journals in your class). Tap wrench icon > scroll down and turn ON ‘Students can see each other’s work’.

- After selecting the Journal tab, tap the green +Add button, then either ‘Post to Student Journal’ (students) or ‘Post Student Work’ (teachers).
- Choose the type of post you’d like to add.
- Create your post.
- Tap the ‘Draft’ button (Seesaw for Schools) or the green checkmark to complete your post!
What is the difference between seesaw and Flipgrid?
There are some similarities, but the biggest difference is that Seesaw is more of a place for students to share their creations with others- not just their voice. Flipgrid is a video response platform with ways to add links to documents/apps that students want to share.
Can you use seesaw with canvas?
Seesaw and Canvas do not work well together by just adding the link. It is not as intuitive or simple as that. When you add the link, it goes to the teachers side of the activities and not to the student side.
Can I embed in seesaw?
Please let us know if you have any additional questions. And I was able to get an answer that, no, one can’t embed a Seesaw activity. One can link the Seesaw app with the redirect, and kids can do the work there but they can’t do the activity within Canvas. Honestly, I’m just curious as to why you’d want to.

Seesaw is the elementary equivalent of an LMS. Perhaps the best feature about Seesaw is that it is FREE! It allows students to record their learning AND easily share it with their teacher (or parents). In essence, it is an advanced whiteboard.

Can you add two links to a seesaw activity?

Can you make text smaller on seesaw?
Students will choose “T” and then “Add label” to access the text label tool. Once they type, they can move the word around the screen and adjust the size, color, etc.
