What are the things you like about your school?
“My school offers a lot of activities and it makes learning fun!” “I like my school because we have really friendly staff! They are always there to help if we have any problems and are always fair about things.” “I like going to school because I love to do PE but I hate it when we have tests!”
Why is my school special to me?
My school is special because we have a unique system that allows us as students to make our way to a better future. We have a community of respect and love for everyone no matter their race or skin color. The goal we have is to make a difference in the community and in ourselves to be something better.
How often should the teacher give you a test?
every ten weeks
Is there too much testing in schools?
There’s too much testing in schools, most teachers agree, but well-designed classroom tests and quizzes can improve student recall and retention. The pushback on high-stakes testing has also accelerated a national conversation about how students truly learn and retain information.
How many tests do students take a year?
10 tests
Why are tests bad?
1. Because students know that test scores may affect their future lives, they do whatever they can to pass them, including cheating and taking performance drugs (e.g. psychostimulants like Ritalin “borrowed” from their friends). 2. Standardized tests don’t provide any feedback on how to perform better.
Is testing bad for students?
If a student performs poorly on a standardized test, they can face increased pressure from their parents and peers to do better and be “smarter.” This can lead to students resenting learning and believing that they are worse than everyone else because of their low score.
Why do I hate exams?
-They are biased in favor of individuals who are superior at memorization. -Exam writers make exams difficult on purpose. They intentionally attempt to trick the test taker so the least amount of people possible pass the exam. This creates a paradigm where students are encouraged to fail rather than to succeed.
Should we have exams or not?
Yes, exams are necessary and important but now, I no longer think it is more important than anything else. We tend to treat exams as some unavoidable monster. Avoiding or skipping around exams is nothing short of a grave sin so we tend to send the kids to attend it even when they are sick!
