What is the difference between Turnitin and iThenticate?
iThenticate is plagiarism detection software that is designed to be used by researchers to ensure the originality of written work before publication. While Turnitin is designed to meet the needs of instructors and their courses, iThenticate is a plagiarism detection service for researchers.
Is iThenticate safe?
Submissions are added to a private, secure database that is only accessible by your own account. Unlike many free plagiarism checker services, iThenticate does not share or resell uploaded files. Your submissions are not searchable by any other account, nor used by any other Turnitin service.
How do I get iThenticate for free?
To request an iThenticate report, use the Editing Request form available in the Services section of the NIH Library website.
What is an acceptable similarity index score iThenticate?
Similarity scores from 1-5% for any one paper may be considered acceptable (assuming no outright copying/verbatim text).
How many times can you Turnitin?
You are allowed three resubmission attempts where the Similarity Report will generate immediately. After three attempts, you’ll have to wait 24 hours before a new Similarity Report can be generated. Resubmission attempts are shared between you and your instructor.
Can I delete a submission on Turnitin?
From the Control Panel, choose Course Tools > Turnitin Assignments and locate the relevant link. Locate the student and click on the adjacent check box for the submission you wish to delete. Click the Delete button.
What happens if I resubmit on Turnitin?
Any resubmissions will overwrite the previously uploaded file. If resubmission by overwrite has been enabled or an instructor has deleted the student user’s first submission, resubmitting a paper is handled in an identical manner as a first time submission to an assignment.
Why is turnitin 24 hours for resubmission?
