What are measurements in research?
Measurement is the process of observing and recording the observations that are collected as part of a research effort. In Levels of Measurement, I explain the meaning of the four major levels of measurement: nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio.
What goes in the measures section of a research paper?
Measures include the following elements:
- The construct or variable being measured.
- The name of the measure.
- A citation for the measure if it is published.
- How many items there are.
- A sample item.
- How items are scored.
- What higher and lower scores mean.
- Research or data supporting the reliability of the measure.
Which of the following is another name for the metric system?
The Metric System is also called the ‘International System of Units.
What are the standard units in the metric system?
The SI system, also called the metric system, is used around the world. There are seven basic units in the SI system: the meter (m), the kilogram (kg), the second (s), the kelvin (K), the ampere (A), the mole (mol), and the candela (cd).
What are the four most common metric prefixes?
In the metric system of measurement, designations of multiples and subdivision of any unit may be arrived at by combining with the name of the unit the prefixes deka, hecto, and kilo meaning, respectively, 10, 100, and 1000, and deci, centi, and milli, meaning, respectively, one-tenth, one-hundredth, and one-thousandth …
What are the metric symbols?

What are the metric prefixes based on?
Metric system prefixes come before a basic unit of measure to indicate a multiple (or submultiple) of that unit….Common Metric System Prefixes and Definitions.

What do the metric prefixes mean?
A metric prefix is a unit prefix that precedes a basic unit of measure to indicate a multiple or submultiple of the unit. The prefix kilo-, for example, may be added to gram to indicate multiplication by one thousand: one kilogram is equal to one thousand grams.
Why are prefixes used in the metric system?
The metric prefixes can be employed to scale the base units so that they can represent anything from a very large numeric value (for example by using prefixes such as Exa, Tera, or Mega) to a very small numeric value (for example by using prefixes such as Atto, Femto, or Pico).
Which metric prefix means thousand?
