Mist the paper with water.
Wait a couple of minutes after applying glue to allow the paper to relax and absorb moisture before placing it on the substrate.
Use only as much glue as necessary.
Spray collage papers with an acrylic sealer on both sides and let it dry.

Can you Mod Podge actual photos?

If you want to go ahead and use photos, just make sure to use a lot of Mod Podge, because it takes more than normal. You’ll have to hold the photos in place for several minutes after you apply the Podge, so that they don’t come up. How does Mod Podge prevent wrinkles?

It doesn’t matter what you do, just make sure that you apply a medium layer – not too thin. Apply the paper to the project surface and SMOOTH THOROUGHLY with your fingers or a brayer. Allow this to dry for 15 – 20 minutes and THEN go back and Mod Podge over it to seal. NOTE: Tissue paper is going to wrinkle.
