Is selling on ThredUP worth it?
No. Most ThredUp reviews that I read all end up with the same story of people expecting to make a decent amount of money by selling their clothes, but being shocked with how much they actually receive months down the road. So it depends on your expectations and how you are using the thrift store.
Is thredUP a ripoff?
Scam. I bought 3 used clothing items from ThredUP marked as in good condition with minor wear. 2 items came very damaged, 1 dress with tears everywhere and another with a missing button. It’s impossible to get a refund, so you ended up being out of money and paying for damaged items.
What does thredUP do with unsold clothes?
If an item is sold and then returned, thredUP resets the item’s consignment window. If an item sells a second time, you’ll be paid immediately. If an item doesn’t sell within the set timeframe, you won’t be paid for it. If you didn’t choose return assurance, any unsold items will be recycled or sold later by thredUP.
Is thredUP or poshmark better?
If you’re looking to sell clothes in bulk and primarily want to get rid of the clutter, ThredUP is probably a more viable solution. If you want to get a chance to cash in on an item that you no longer use, Poshmark might be more up your alley.
