What are community helpers?
Community helpers are people who live and work in our communities. Some examples of community helpers are: doctors, nurses, chefs, bakers, astronauts, soldiers, teachers, dentists, mail carriers, bus drivers, coaches, babysitters, fishermen, plumbers, firefighters, farmers, librarians, and volunteers.
Why do we need community helpers?
Community helpers are the individuals who live and work in our community and ensure that the community stays healthy, safe and happy. These community helpers do everything they can to help us and make our lives easier by providing us with goods and services.
How do we show respect to community helpers?
Address them respectfully: Address your helper as you would a family member – with respect and courtesy. Use terms such as ‘bhaiyya’, ‘didi,’ or ‘uncle’. Remember, the tone and inflections of your voice conveys to a person how you feel about them.
What would happen if there were no community helpers?
Answer. We cannot even imagine a day without the help of community helpers. Our basic necessities would stop because of non-cooperation from doctors, nurses, bankers, soldiers, teachers and dentists etc. These community helpers must get our support and respect from the society for their invaluable services.

Why should we respect our helpers?
Receiving respect from others is important because it helps us to feel safe and to express ourselves. Being respected by important people in our lives growing up teaches us how to be respectful toward others.
