How loud is a drummer?
As a drummer and and audio engineer, I’ve always been curious and decided to find out. So, how many decibels loud is a drum set and cymbals? A drum set and cymbals is on average 119dB but can range between 90 and 130dB (decibels) depending on what instruments are being played.
How loud are drums from outside a house?
How loud is a drum set? An acoustic drum set will be between 100-120 decibels depending on the force being exerted on the drums. Electronic drums will be much quieter as the noise will come from stick tapping but stomping can still be an issue.
Can neighbors hear my drums?
Everyone can hear it but I’ve only gotten one complaint because I was once playing at like 11pm. It just depends if your neighbours are nice or not… you should be fine if you live in a detached house.
Are acoustic drums loud?

What can I do about my neighbors drumming?
Be friendly and polite and introduce yourself and tell them that you want to talk about the drums. Maybe say something about hearing the drums and ask if they are in a band or if they gig. Doesn’t matter if they do or not, you just want to open communicating in a friendly way.
Can you play drums in a townhouse?
Get a set of pads instead of real drums. They can be set up to mimic an actual drum kit and have realistic feel and rebound. They’re just like playing drums without the noise. If you play drums in a townhouse you’re going to be bothering your neighbors, full stop.
Is drums harder than piano?
The drums are an easier musical instrument for beginners to start with compared to the piano. Also, it takes a shorter period to master the drums than the piano. However, the drums are just a difficult instrument to master as the piano.
