Awesome place to work, but it has it’s good and bad NASA is a great place to work. Job security is 100%, WLB is unmatched anywhere, the pay is good but less than industry, and the work you are invloved in is fantastic though can be drudgery at times.

Why are astronauts paid so little?
Astronauts are paid as dictated by the general schedule, grades GS-12 through a GS-13. The salary range represented by that is about $65,000 through $100,000 per year. The astronauts are salaried, so no matter how much time they spend in space, they get paid the same.
Can you wear a bra in space?
According to this Salon article[1], yes they do. They don’t need the support, but the bra keeps their wobbly bits in place while floating around in microgravity. They also like having an extra layer between said bits and the cameras all over the space station.
