How much does it cost to buy skydiving gear?
A complete skydiving rig, brand new, ranges from about $5000 USD to $8000 USD; most are about $6500–7000. In addition, you’ll need an altimeter ($120-$200) and a helmet and goggles ($50 to $350). While you are a student, you’ll also need a jumpsuit but most drop zones have some you can use.
What do you thinK it is necessary for skydivers to use parachutes?
If a diver jumps too low, they don’t have enough time to build up speed and use air flow to stabilize their position, which is important for a parachute to open correctly. In free fall, a diver is falling at more than 10,000 feet in one minute!
Do they weigh you before you go skydiving?
Yes. All guests will be asked to step on a scale. This is done with discretion whereby no one but the associate checking you in is able to read your weight. This may seem over the top but is standard in the skydiving industry as weight restrictions are taken seriously.
How long does it take to skydive 12000 ft?
A typical skydive lasts five to six minutes, with approximately 50 seconds of that spent in freefall and four to five minutes on the parachute ride down.
