How much does it cost to skydive per person?
The average price of a skydive is around $300, which buys you a tandem jump, attached to a highly experienced instructor. Skydiving at Long Island Skydiving Center costs $229 if you make a reservation, or $298 if you show up at the dropzone without a reservation. Jump for a second time and it’s just $199!
Do you have to be a certain weight to skydive?
Most skydiving centers will say their weight limit for a tandem passenger is approximately 200-220 pounds for women and 230-250 pounds for men. There is typically no minimum weight, only a minimum age (18 years old in the US).
Can you jump out of a plane by yourself?
After completing the required number of skydives in your training progression, you will be cleared for self-supervision and can skydive completely solo! Though, skydiving by yourself is just the beginning. Once you receive your skydiving license, you will be cleared to jump with other licensed jumpers.

The USPA estimates about 3.2 million skydives occurred in the U.S. last year, now many of these are people enjoying a once in a lifetime experience on a tandem skydive and a few are jumping thousands of times per year. I personally average 200–300 skydives per year.
Are skydivers crazy?
It’s certainly not an everyday occurrence for most people! But while skydiving is an extreme sport and it does get your adrenaline pumping, we argue that it’s not a crazy thing to do. Skydivers aren’t crazy! In fact, they’re sensible, calculated people who know exactly what they’re doing and do it with precision.
