What do the elfstones do?
Elfstones are powerful, ancient talismans, originating in the Age of Faerie. They were mined by Trolls and given to the Elves to be made over into talismans. Because it was the Elves who infused them with their magic, only those with sufficient Elven blood can use them.
Who is Rin katsin?
Rin Katsin isn’t a character in the books, he’s a combination of two of them. More specifically, he’s Rin and Katsin, the guards who take Wil and Amberle to Drey Wood and both die. Also, Ander doesn’t need the help of the gnomes, he’s more than capable by himself thank you very much.
What happens in the Shannara Chronicles?

When her clan is mysteriously slaughtered, Eretria is freed and chooses to accompany Wil and Amberle. Once the group succeeds in repelling the demons, Wil invites Eretria to his homeland, and she accepts. In the follow-up novel, The Wishsong of Shannara, it is revealed that they are married and have two children.

Fans of the book were expecting Eretria to make it back to Arborlon with Wil and Amberle, since (minor spoiler alert) Eretria and Wil end up together, having children who go on to become the heroes of the third book in the Shannara series.

This represented the power and connection to the Magic of Old that Eretria had. Her tattoo was connected to the Bloodfire and the power of the Four Lands. Her tattoo lit up and she somehow knew she had to pierce her hand on the big needle thing in the middle of the room in order for the Bloodfire to be revealed.
