What are learning themes?
Theme-based learning is a method of education that makes perfect sense. While there are different degrees to which you can immerse your class in a theme (themes within subjects – themes across separate subjects – etc.), true theme-based learning completely eliminates the concepts of ‘subjects’.

Is April National Poetry Month?
National Poetry Month, a celebration of poetry which takes place each April, was introduced in 1996 and is organized by the Academy of American Poets as a way to increase awareness and appreciation of poetry in the United States. Since 1998, National Poetry Month has also been celebrated each April in Canada.
Why is poetry month in April?
In coordination with poets, booksellers, librarians, and teachers, we chose a month when poetry could be celebrated with the highest level of participation. April seemed the best time within the year to turn attention toward the art of poetry—in an ultimate effort to encourage poetry readership year-round.

Why is there a National Poetry Month?
