What is gift in Islam?
A gift is a transfer of property where interest is transferred from one living person to another, without any consideration. It is a gratuitous and inter vivos in nature. This is the general definition that is accepted by all the religions, including Muslim law. As per the Muslim Law, a gift is called as Hiba.
What gifts should Muslims not have?
According to Sharia law, Muslim men cannot wear silk or gold, although this does not apply to women. Dates have been given as a gift for hundreds of years in this region.

Can Muslims wear platinum ring?
Allama Ibn Abideen and the other akaabir fuqaha narrate that on this basis, Imam Azam, sahibayn and all akaabir fuqaha have ruled that the only material a man can wear as a ring is silver. And in fact other jewellery should not be worn. All other metals other than silver, including platinum are implicitly haram.
Is it haram for a man to wear diamonds?
