Proof of identity: Bank card. Current, valid full UK photo-card driving licence with signature. Work pass, Freedom pass or Blue badge (all with photo)

How do I get a UK library card?

Normally your library card expires every three years. This means most people will still be able to use their library accounts as usual to borrow books, eBooks and eAudio titles, and to read eMagazines.

From today, more than 4,000 libraries across England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be open to any member of the public no matter where they live, thanks to a new scheme introduced by top librarians.
Can I join a library in a different borough?
Anyone can join a library as long as they have proof of address in the relevant borough.
