Will a 700R4 bolt up to a 350 motor?
Yes, they bolt right in. Better if your th350 is a longtail (truck) tranny. That way you wont need another driveshaft.
Can you replace a TH350 with a 700R4?
Re: Replace a TH350 with a 700R4? The 700R4 will bolt up to your small block v-8. You’ll have to move the trans crossmember back a few inches and drill new holes to bolt it down.
What transmission will fit a Chevy 350?
4l60e hydro-matic transmission for 1/2 ton applications which is a most common vehicle.
What is the difference between a TH350 and 700R4?
The shape of the oil pans is one way to differentiate between the TH350 and the 700R4. The TH350’s oil pan is shaped like a square with one of its corners cut off, while the 700R4’s oil pan is basically rectangular.
Is a TH350 stronger than a 700R4?
According to the big trans guys they are actually stronger than the 700; smaller, lighter, and a better 1st gear ratio. I have had a mildly built 200-4R behind a 462 in a 4000# car for over 10 years with no issues.
Why does my 700R4 shift so hard?
Some times it is a stuck Throttle valve. If yours has not been taken apart and has not had a spring put inhind the valve they will stick witch will cause late hard shifts. Try taking the cable off of the throttle linkage and pulling it all the way out and then letting go of it so it snaps back into place.
How does a 700R4 transmission shift?
The TV cable on the 700R4 and 200-4R transmissions controls line pressure, shift points, shift feel, part throttle downshifts, and detent (full throttle) downshifts. When the TV cable is properly adjusted the movement of the TV plunger in the valve body is calibrated to the movement of the fuel delivery system.
Is a 700R4 transmission computer controlled?
You need to distinguish between the 700-R4 trans (which can be set up to run without a computer) and its later descendent, the 4L60E family (which is a fully electronic, totally computer-controlled transmission). There are no TV cable, mechanical speedometer drive, or governor provisions.
