Should I play Halo 4 before 5?
Do i need to play halo 4 to understand halo 5? I definitely recommend playing through the campaign of Halo 4, as it is absolutely my favorite entry in the series, story wise at least. If that is impossible, you should probably watch a playthrough.

Can you play Halo 5 first?
You should start playing Halo: CE, Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 4 (at least) in Halo MCC and Halo 5: Guardians, also, if you can, play Halo Reach, Halo 3: ODST and Halo Wars 1 & 2. But if you only want to play multiplayer, then I think it’s not necessary to play them all.
Should I get Halo 5?
It’s definitely worth it. I will say it took me a bit to get used to Halo 5’s new style, but once I got comfortable with the gameplay and understood the REQ system, I loved it. If you’re primarily looking to play Warzone Firefight, I think you’ll enjoy yourself on a handful of the huge maps that are out.
