Nearly a year after Draco had unintentionally become the wand’s master, Harry Potter had taken Draco’s wand by force during the Skirmish at Malfoy Manor, making him the new master of the Elder Wand.
Why did the elder wand choose Harry?
The Elder Wand is the most powerful wand in the wizarding world, but it also works in mysterious ways; it doesn’t just choose any wizard to wield its awesome power. The Elder Wand is singular in that it is not governed by wand law or loyalty, but only by power. That’s why it chose Dumbledore and, later, Harry Potter.
When did Harry disarm Draco for the Elder Wand?
This (from the wands point of view) is considered a “loss” of a duel. So when Dumbledore was disarmed as the Elder Wand owner he “lost” its loyalty to Draco. In the Deathly Hallows, Harry disarms Draco in the Malfoy Manner during their (Harry and gang’s) escape from the mansion.
Why did the elder wand not belong to Snape?
This nuance was lost on Lord Voldemort, who wrongly assumed Severus Snape held the Elder Wand because he was Dumbledore’s killer, when in reality Draco had disarmed Dumbledore before Snape arrived on the scene, making Malfoy the wand’s true new owner.
Did Snape know the elder wand belonged to Draco?
Probably, Snape knew ownership of the elder wand had passed to Draco because he disarmed Dumbledore the night he was killed. The books never indicated Snape was aware the ownership had passed to Harry.
Did Draco know about Snape?
No, he wasn’t. He had discussed the plan with Dumbledore, so he was telling the truth. He had, by then, already promised Dumbledore he would be the one to euthanise him. So he could er, safely promise Narcissa that he would protect Draco even if it meant his own death.
Is Snape actually Draco’s godfather?

Who is Draco Malfoy Godfather?
It may be just me, but I can see Snape being Draco’s Godfather. Yes he was a half-blood, but he was pretty much Voldemort’s right-hand man so I feel like that would have impressed Lucius.
