Hermit crabs need optimal temperatures. There is little room for maneuver as hermit crabs are delicate creatures. The temperature sweet spot for hermit crabs is between 72 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Marine crabs thrive in water at the lower end of this scale, but will be fine at 80 degrees.
