Can I use Bose cube speakers with any receiver?
No receiver or module to power them. They are designed to be paired with a separate, different-brand receiver. If you have such a receiver, you can do away with the bass module and use a different brand sub.

Unfortunately the impiedence of the individual Bose speakers is different from standard theater speakers, so you will not be able to bypass the Accoustimas module and connect them directly to the receiver without destroying them.

NO, you cannot use the cubes without the Acoustimass module. There are no bass speakers in the cubes. The Acoustimass provides the bass. If you can run wiring from 5 double cubes to your receiver, you can run that same wiring from 5 double cubes to your Acoustimass module.

The Bose 700 system does not support eARC and thus will never work with Dolby Atmos. There are a host of new TVs and Soundbars from LG, Samsung, Sony etc. that all support eARC connections from the TV to the Soundbar.
Is Dolby Atmos better than Bose?
For me personally, the Bose won! Even though Bose does not decode Atmos or DTS-X, it’s wide dispersion of it’s 5.1 channel decoding sounded more immersive in my living room. 4 #HW-N950 surround system (including sub-woofer and rear surround speakers) with 4 Dolby Atmos up-firing speakers.
