How long does a mini keg last once opened?
The mini-kegs have a shelf life of 5 weeks, but once they are opened, it is best to drink the beer within 3 days. Place the keg on the edge of a stable, flat surface.
Are mini kegs any good?
Mini-kegs are definitely best shared at a socially distant gathering – we recommend consuming them within 24 hours of opening and 8.8 pints in a day is probably a bit much for one person to enjoy responsibly.
Can you put a mini keg in the fridge?
Our recommendation is to finish the mini-keg within 24-48 hours. You can probably store it longer, especially if refrigerated with the top vent closed between pours, but our concern is that the carbonation will start to suffer.
How long do mini kegs stay good?
As long as the mini keg has not been tapped, and you keep it refrigerated, it should stay fresh for several months. However, once the keg has been carbonated (or filled with finished beer from a larger keg) it is ideal that you plan to consume it within 2 – 3 months.
Do mini kegs go off?
1) Mini kegs contain ‘bright’ beer – in other words, there are no remnants of hops of yeast left in the beer that would otherwise need to settle out. So, unlike a mini cask, you can pour it straight away. 2) It has a long shelf-life of around 9 months, so you can store it away for when you need it!
Can you untap a mini-keg?
Definitely untap it after each use, the Bronco taps have a pressure release valve which will help get you another day or so out of it but unless you’re using CO2 the beer won’t last very long. At the very least it sounds like a good excuse to have a party.
Do mini kegs go flat?
A small amount of beer foam may escape the mini-keg through the air-release, this isn’t something to worry about, there’s plenty of beer inside. We still recommend consuming the mini-keg within 24 hours after opening – the beer will go flat relatively quickly once open, so grab some pals and make it a party!
How do you refrigerate a mini keg?
Put the keg in a cool box and swap the ice packs as they warm up. Rather than a 5L mini keg most will also sell in 2pt and 4pm milk bottles. These will keep for 2-3 days usually and will also fit in a fridge door.
