Why did all my triops die?
This is usually due to the following reason. You may have used too much water. The more water you have in the tank, the more the infusoria is diluted and so the tiny Triops have difficulty finding enough to eat in the crucial first 72 hours. So they simply die from lack of food.

They’re low-commitment, too: Triops only live for 1–3 months (less if they eat each other). And when one batch dies out, you can dry out the soil or sand in the tank and transfer it to fresh water. If resting eggs are in the sand, with the proper care, you’ll soon have another group of triops.
