Foreign nationals who wish to enter the lottery have until Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at noon EST to file online. For FY 2022, the DV lottery program will make up to 55,000 green card numbers available through random selection. FY 2022 lottery results will be announced in May 2021.
How long does it take to get a green card after winning the lottery?
If selected, you must complete all the Green card application process requirements. Once this step is completed, you must wait for the U.S Embassy to review your visa request. The process, from the initial lottery process to immigration, will take about 2 years.
Is DV lottery really random?
The winners of the Diversity Visa lottery are chosen at random by a computer program, with a certain number of visas allocated to each region of the world and no one country receiving more than 7 percent of the Diversity Visas available in any given year.
