Can I reject my insurance offer?

If you decide that you don’t want to go to your insurance choice whatever happens, you’ll have to ask the university to let you go into clearing. This is called being rejected if it’s a conditional offer or released if it’s unconditional.

Can you decline admission after accepting?

Of course you can. You can choose not to attend a university any time from the day you get admitted to the day you graduate. Usually when you accept a university’s offer of admission, you must include a deposit towards tuition. If you later decide not to enroll, you will likely lose the deposit.

Can you decline your firm choice?

If you no longer want to go to your firm choice, you can use the ‘decline your place’ button in Track. From 6 July, if you are holding a firm unconditional place, you can release yourself into Clearing, by using the ‘decline your place’ button in Track.

Can you accept your insurance over your firm?

Insurance acceptance – the back-up choice to a conditional firm acceptance. You can’t choose between your firm and insurance when you get your results, so make sure you’re happy with which is your firm and which is your insurance before you reply.

How do you release yourself into clearing?

Self-release

  1. Sign in to your Track account and click the ‘decline my place’ button on your profile page.
  2. You’ll be taken to a page explaining what this entails and asked to complete a set of questions and confirm your decision.
  3. You’ll then get an email confirming you’re in Clearing.

How long does it take to hear back from a university interview?

Most universities will have made a decision by the end of March, while some universities will wait until May to give you an answer. There is no standardised waiting time. Some will hear back in three days and some three weeks. This is completely normal and not a reflection of your application.
