Can I replace my home theater subwoofer with a car subwoofer?

Can I replace my home theater subwoofer with a car subwoofer?

Yes, car subwoofers are used for home theater by detaching power supply, remove the car subwoofer, carefully connect it with the home theater system. If you want a better sound quality at your home theater system you can attach a subwoofer meant for your car stereo system.

Can I mix and match subwoofers?

As a general rule, we do not recommend mixing and matching different brands of speakers in a surround sound system. Even mixing different lines within a particular brand can present problems. In fact, there is rarely any reason to keep your subwoofer the same brand as your main speakers, perhaps other than cosmetics.

Can you use 2 different brand subwoofers?

Thus, using two different brand subwoofers is not recommended. Just know that if you rig together two different brand subwoofers, your sound quality could be impaired, and you could damage your equipment. When you use two different brands (and models) of subwoofers, you are likely looking at different specs.

Can you split subwoofer pre out?

No problems and no worries about damage. All you’re transmitting through that “subwoofer cable” and the Y-splitter is a low voltage signal. You’re not sending any sort of amplifier power – that’s built into the sub itself. So there’s no problem with splitting the signal to feed two or more subs.

Can I use RCA splitter for subwoofer?

In order to hook up a powered subwoofer properly, an RCA “splitter” cable (“Y” cable) is not needed. Any single, standard RCA or subwoofer cable should do just fine. However, if the sub is exhibiting a hum with the RCA/sub cable plugged into it, then maybe try using a “shielded” subwoofer cable.

Is it OK to put a subwoofer on carpet?

Subwoofers on Carpet The subwoofer can sit right on the carpet, and the sound should be propagated from the subwoofer and mixed with the rest of the soundscape just fine. And even for a down-facing subwoofer, the amount of sound being absorbed by the carpet is likely going to be negligible.

Should subwoofer be in front or back?

You can place a subwoofer behind you or in the back of the room but this is likely not going to be the most optimal location. Ideally, the subwoofer should be placed at the front of the room pulled at least 6-inches away from the wall for the best low-frequency audio signal performance.

Which way should a subwoofer face in a car?

Facing Upward – Towards The Trunk Hatch Facing the subwoofer upward while in the trunk, gives you big bass without consuming a lot of space. This direction offers crisp sound with a slight advantage to high frequencies and treble, and won’t rattle loose parts in your vehicle as much.

Can you put a subwoofer behind a wall?

As a general rule, placing your subwoofer in a corner or close to the wall is going to result in more bass, but not necessarily the best bass. In fact, high-quality subs tend to sound their best when pulled at least 8 to 12 inches from any wall.

Are in wall subwoofers any good?

The best in wall subwoofer will usually deal with any frequencies between 20 Hz and 200 Hz, and although you don’t need a subwoofer, it does add a great deal of quality to your sound system set up. An in wall subwoofer can be a great accompaniment to a set of in wall speakers.
