Yes, you can. However, there are ways to prevent this. If you end up failing a class during the school year, you will most likely have to attend summer school. If you fail summer school or do not attend summer school, you will be forced to repeat that class.

Yes, it’s possible. I’ve had passing grades until i reached senior year. I spoke with my teachers and all I need is a grade above a 72 in physics for my second semester to pass the class and do credit recovery in economics. Luckily, I will be graduating in time.

Most colleges will forgive a bad grade if: 1) the rest of your grades fall within their usual GPA, 2) your SAT/ACT grades are reasonable, and 3) you offer some kind of explanation for your poor performance. Even with multiple D’s, you could always go to a community college to start out with and then transfer.
