Do UC schools require essays?
The UC schools require four essays that you can choose from eight prompts, and each essay has a 350 word limit. These are called the Personal Insight Questions and can be found here on the UC website. UC and CSU schools do not require transcripts be sent until June, after acceptance, to verify each application.

Is Cal Poly better than UC?
It is harder to admit to Cal Poly than UC Davis. Cal Poly has a higher submitted SAT score (1,340) than UC Davis (1,290). Cal Poly has higher submitted ACT score (29) than UC Davis (28). UC Davis has more full-time faculties with 2,572 faculties while Cal Poly has 881 full-time faculties.
What GPA do Cal States look at?
First off CSU only uses your 10th grade & 11th grade GPA. This does not mean you can slack in 9th grade though because those classes still count toward your A-G requirements. California State Universities will add up to 8 points from AP or Honors courses to your GPA, and plug it into the Eligibility Index formula.
Will CSU require SAT for 2022?
Another change that will impact prospective students was CSU’s decision this spring to temporarily suspend the standardized testing requirement for the fall 2021, winter 2022 and spring 2022 admission cycles. Aside from omitting SAT/ACT test scores, the application process will be the same as before.
