Does cengage track?
If a student is working on their smartphone, the student MUST be logged in to MindTap from login.cengage.com using a browser such as Chrome on their phone. If they are using the mobile app on their phone, their hours will not be tracked.
Does cengage use Webcam?
Cengage Learning and YouSeeU Partner to Integrate Speech Capture Software into MindTap. The YouSeeU MindApp allows students to record and capture speech presentations using a webcam or phone, and upload them online for peer review and instructor evaluation.
Can a co host record a zoom meeting?
Note: Only hosts and co-hosts can start a cloud recording. If you want a participant to start a recording, you can make them a co-host or use local recording. Recordings started by co-hosts will still appear in the host’s recordings in the Zoom web portal.
Can I record a conversation if I feel threatened?
If they threaten you this can be brought to the police to aid in getting a restraining order. Remember only if your state allows recording. Federal law permits recording telephone calls and in-person conversations with the consent of at least one of the parties. This is called a “one-party consent” law.
Can I record my disciplinary meeting?
Ideally, yes, you should request permission to audio record a disciplinary – especially if you as the employer would like to record the meeting. If you don’t want meetings to be recorded, make it clear to all parties from the get-go that recording without consent is not permitted.
Are you allowed to record a meeting without consent?
You may want to include, in your disciplinary procedure, a note to say that an employee should not record meetings or conversations without the knowledge and consent of the other persons involved, as it undermines trust and may be treated as an act of misconduct.

In California, it is a misdemeanor to record a conversation without the consent of all parties to the conversation, which can lead to fines of up to $2,500 and/or imprisonment for up to a year.
