- Beware of jargon. If you use acronyms like the name of a standardized test or “ELMO,” make sure you explain them.
- Double check spelling and grammar. Donors love to see that you’ve put time and care into your project.

If you’re a donor:
- Visit donorschoose.org/redeem and enter your code.
- Click “Find a classroom to support.” (
- Choose a classroom project to support.
- Type the total amount you’d like to give and press enter.
- Underneath “Complete your donation,” click on the words “Apply a gift or promo code”

How many donors choose projects can I have?
How many projects can teachers have posted at a time? A teacher may have up to 10 projects “in progress” at any given time. A project is considered to be “in progress” from the time you submit it to DonorsChoose until we receive your complete Thank-You Package.
What happens if my Donors Choose project is overfunded?
What happens to these donations if my project isn’t funded? Any pre-funding donations that were applied to your project will go back into your account as credits, which you can use toward another project.
Who can use Donors Choose?
Your role is eligible to create projects on DonorsChoose if you meet all of the following criteria: You work in an eligible school. You’re employed full-time (or considered at least 0.75 FTE) by a public school, public charter school or the Office of Head Start.
Is DonorsChoose only for teachers?
At this time DonorsChoose is solely focused on assisting U.S. public school teachers. This may change in the future but there are no immediate plans for additional expansion.
