How do you adjust a bar tension?
Locate the point where the two sections of the tension rod fit together. Tension rods have two interlocking shafts with a strong spring inside. Place one hand on either side of the spot where the rods connect and twist counterclockwise to lengthen the tension rod or clockwise to shorten it.
Does adjusting torsion bars affect alignment?
When raise the front end by turning up the torsion bars you affect the camber and toe in. You also change the “spring rate” meaning the truck will ride stiffer. That being said when done in moderation a lot of guys get by without doing an alignment.
Can you adjust torsion bars on the ground?
Normally, only one full turn will be enough to give the desired result. Lower the vehicle, and check the clearances of the frame to the ground. They should be the same for both sides. If they are not, then more adjustment will be necessary to the torsion bar adjustment bolts.

Registered. Look under the truck, where the torsion bar attaches to the crossmember, see if the bolts are all the way in (where the bolt head almost touches the brace). If that is the case then your torsion bars are cranked..
What’s the difference between stock and aftermarket torsion keys?
with stock keys cranked id still get a longer shock but with aftermarket keys, certain brands make shocks just for that range of lift. So really for stock keys id get a stock length or maybe an inch longer shock but it wont make the ride back to stock.
Is Leveling a truck bad?

Do Aftermarket torsion keys work?
Re: How do torsion keys work? Actually they do allow more tension to be put on the bar. The only thing the aftermarket keys do is allow for the keys to not have to be run so far “up” to get the desired lift.
Are all Chevy torsion keys the same?
They’re all the same length; just different thicknesses to give them different spring rates. Any S-series torsion bar is swapable into any S-series truck whether it’s a pickup, Blazer, and any of the configurations.
Will 2500 torsion bars fit a 1500?
The short answer is that 2500 keys will lower a 1500 and because of the indexing 1500 keys will raise a 2500.
Will 2500 torsion keys fit a 1500?
