Do I have to take 1 hour lunch break?
Most California employees are entitled to one meal period of at least 30 minutes if they work 5 hours or more in one day (unless they are exempt from overtime). However, the employee and the employer can mutually agree to waive the meal period if the employee works no more than 6 hours in one day.
