How does GCSE English work?
The GCSE (9-1) English Language requires learners to sit two exams. Reading assessment makes up 50% of the GCSE and writing assessment makes up the other 50%. In each exam, learners will respond to reading questions on the unseen texts and one writing task.
Do you get 2 GCSEs for English?
English has been split into two distinct and separate GCSEs; English Language and English Literature. No longer is there a GCSE that mixes the two.
