How does the Gates Scholarship work?
The primary mission of the Gates Scholarship is to increase the number of underrepresented minorities in all majors. Each year, 300 student leaders are selected for the Gates Scholarship, with each winner receiving funding for the full Cost of Attendance to an accredited four-year US university or college.

Truman Scholars receive up to $30,000 for graduate or professional school, participate in leadership development activities, and have special opportunities for internships and employment with the federal government. How many Truman scholars are there?

How many Truman finalists are there?
Between 55 and 65. How are Truman Scholars selected? First, the institution chooses its nominees in a procedure determined by the Faculty Rep. Second, the Truman Finalist Selection Committee will review all writing applications and select approximately 200 students as Finalists.
