There’s absolutely no reason why you can’t. Can a teacher live with someone with a criminal record?

Heads and teachers will be barred from working in schools in future if they live with someone who has a conviction for a violent or sexual crime, according to new rules. The regulations cover convictions against adults or children.

Assault charges without a conviction may not bar you from working with kids. However, a felony assault conviction on your record will probably disqualify you.

Can I work with vulnerable adults with a criminal record?

A criminal record does not automatically bar you from working with young people and vulnerable adults, even if it involved violence. You are required to declare all your cautions and convictions, even if they are spent, unless they are eligible for filtering.
