How is cable schedule calculated?
Selection of cable – Case #2
- Current capacity of 95 Sq.mm cable is 200 Amp, Resistance = 0.41 Ω/Km and. Reactance = 0.074 mho/Km.
- Total derating current of 70 Sq.mm Cable = 200 · 0.93 = 187 Amp.
- Voltage drop of cable = (1.732 · 139 · (0.41 · 0.8 + 0.074 · 0.6) · 200 · 100) / (415 · 1 · 1000) = 2.2%
How do you prepare a cable schedule for a substation?
The information of the cable schedule shall consists:
- Cable Number.
- Cable Type / Specification.
- Cable Size.
- Cable Length.
- Source and destination termination description.
- Cable gland type and size for each incoming cable.

What is PG in cable gland?
Panzergewinde sizes are named with the prefix PG plus a nominal number which approximately corresponds to the maximum cable diameter (in millimeters) that can be passed through the conduit. Beginning in 2000, the VDE standard for cable glands (VDE 0619) was formally replaced by EN 50262.
What is PG in metrics?
METRIC THREAD — ELECTRICAL THREAD — Pg A new metric thread standard (EN 50262) will be phased in as mandatory beginning on March 1, 2001 replacing the Pg thread. There was a different standard for electrical conduit threads based on the 55° Whitworth thread form.
