How much is ice skating?
Prices range from below $150 for recreational skates, and upwards of $150 for skating classes ice skates. Advanced level figure skates with a better level of support for $250 and higher.
Is ice skating in Central Park free?
Enjoy gliding across the ice with the New York City skyline in the background! There are two main ice-skating rinks in Central Park, each with skate & locker rentals available – Wollman Rink and Lasker Rink. A third (free) option is also available at Conservatory Water when proper ice conditions permit.
Is it easy to balance on ice skates?

Can you break your ankle roller blading?

At one point, she got a bigger hit than she was prepared for, and her skate stayed flat while her ankle budged, with an audible crack.
Why does rollerskating hurt?
This skating malady is caused by pressure from a stiff skate tongue (the part that goes behind the laces, on the front of your ankle/top of your foot). If the skate is laced tightly, the tongue cuts into the tendons of the ankle, causing pain, redness, and swelling.
Why do my ankles hurt when I rollerblade?
If you have weak ankles, you will feel especially wobbly on skates and more pressure underfoot. At the end of your skating session if your legs and feet are tired it’s more than likely the result of weak ankles. The biggest pain associated with weak ankles comes from rolling or twisting an ankle due to instability.
