Before you even start jumping, you’ll need to complete ground training, which takes 6-8 hours and covers everything you need to know about flying your body and controlling your parachute. Each jump you do is designed to teach you a new skill, so you’ll have more training before each jump.

Does your stomach drop while skydiving?

Skydiving does not give you that roller coaster stomach drop sensation. The reason why skydiving does not give you a stomach drop sensation is because you are flying in an airplane that is moving forwards at 40-80 mph. This means that your body is already moving at that speed when you exit the airplane.

Why does your stomach drop on roller coasters?

The sinking feeling in your stomach when on a rollercoaster or driving over a hill is caused by a change in force experienced by your organs. There is no upwards force from the ground to cause your organs to be compressed, so they are floating inside of you, even though you are falling.
