Is forgetting basic math normal?
If you’re a real mathematician, you will never forget the basics of math. It is like a building block. I’d say that basic math shall never be forgotten by any mathematician if he’s a real mathematician. If he did forget, he’ll probably go back and revise them.
Is calculus really necessary?
Calculus could be essential for our survival since we need to develop and understand climate or population growth models, spread of diseases or mechanisms to resolve conflicts or deal with economic and financial crisis. Here are links to some galleries. Many illustrate the importance of calculus.
Can I learn calculus in a day?
Of course it’s possible. Doesn’t mean you’ll learn much (or even manage to read thru the entire text) but it’s quite possible to study it in a day. I’m ending my calculus 1 class with a grade of 100% but I had to study for many, many hours.
Is algebra harder than geometry?
To other people, especially for me, geometry was harder than algebra. In highschool, geometry is different to the other math classes like Algebra, Algebra 2 and precalculus(besides the trigonometry). Algebra is more straightforward while geometry requires you to think logically in order to solve a problem.
What math is needed for statistics?
“Statistics” is fairly broad, and when you say you want to understand it at a high level you implicate many areas of math. As Jay Verkuilen answered, you need linear algebra, probability theory, real analysis and optimization theory. Included in the last two are calculus and set theory.
What majors do you need calculus for?
Calculus is also required for students wanting to earn their Master of Business Administration.
- Economics, Business and Accounting.
- Engineering.
- Natural Sciences.
- Mathematics.
- Computer and Information Science.
What is easier algebra or statistics?
a fundamental course in statistics, then, generally, statistics is more difficult. Algebra concepts are much easier to grasp, Stats concepts are harder to grasp but the work itself at an INTRO level stat class will be easier as most of it is just memorizing a bunch of formulas and plugging them in.
Is Statistics harder than pre calculus?
Statistics (the AP course) in my opinion is a slightly less challenging class than pre-calc. I am enrolled in both of these classes right now at the high school level. But as a single-year math course, pre-calculus is bit more challenging.
