A period is when blood comes out through a girl’s vagina. It is a sign that she is getting close to the end of puberty. Puberty is when your body goes from looking like a kid’s into looking more like a grown-up’s.

What happens when puberty ends?
The genitals grow throughout puberty. Because puberty ends at different ages for different people, there is no set age at which the genitals will have completely developed. Once puberty is complete, the genitals are usually fully developed. Puberty usually takes around 4 years.
At what age puberty stops?
For some puberty can start earlier or later, and this is completely normal. It tends to last until a person is around 16. In girls, puberty before the age of 8 is atypical.
Is it possible to induce a second puberty?
In hypogonadotropic hypogonadism puberty can be initiated by the use of pulsatile GnRH, gonadotropins, and sex steroids. Sex steroids will induce development of the secondary sex characteristics alone, while combined administration of gonadotropins and GnRH may induce gonadal development including fertility.
