The last delivery of the program, “I Think, therefore I am” of The 2, has been dedicated to Manuel Castells, one of the sociologists spain’s most internationally known and among the most cited. In this program, Manuel Castells explains what today means to the sociology in a changing world like ours.
Manuel Castells is Professor of Sociology and Director of the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute of the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya, Professor of Communication Technology and Society at the Annenberg School of Communication, University of Southern California, and of Sociology and Urban planning at the University of California at Berkeley, Castells is one of the sociologists most cited in the world. Reputed expert in the information society and the media, we know his vision of the new technologies and their impact defining in our society and in our way of understanding the contemporary world, as well as their commitment to the “utopias real” and accurate analysis on the political and social changes that have appeared in recent years.
In this program also are other people who have worked or work with him, such as the Doctorate in Social Sciences and rector of the UOC (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya), Imma Tubella, the researcher Metitxell Rock, the Internet Interdisciplinay Institute, and the sociologist Marina Subirachs.
