What is the difference between white and pink erasers?
The Pink Pearl is the most classic eraser found in most classrooms, and is also the eraser that most people are familiar with. It’s made of soft pliable rubber and is smudge resistant. The White Pearl is the cheapest of the three. It is self cleaning and gentle, so it will not tear paper.
Why are erasers pink and blue?
The pink part is to erase pencil on regular paper, that part we know. Instead, the blue parts of the eraser were still for pencil, but were made to be used on a heavier stock of paper. So they were ideal for your sketchpads and other thick pages that may not have worked as well with the softer erasers.
Why do Erasers have a blue side?
The blue end is meant for erasing pencil marks on heavy grades of paper or dark marks. The soft end (pink/orange) is useful for light grades of paper which the hard gritted side would tear apart, and also for precision erasing, such as removing a light stray mark from among dark marks.
