What are the hours of online school?
It features recommendations from the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards which say that elementary students should have 1-2 hours a day of online instruction, middle school students 2-3 hours, and high school students 3-4 hours. Other experts agree with these general guidelines.
Can you do K12 on your own time?
K12-powered online public schools in California are tuition-free,* offer you and your child flexibility. In high school, the Learning Coach provides support and oversight, but students manage their own time and schedule more independently.
Does online school have a schedule?
Online courses fall into two scheduling categories: asynchronous and synchronous. Synchronous courses happen in real-time. Though you don’t have to physically go to a campus, your attendance in these online course events is just as necessary as your attendance at a traditional on-campus class would be.
Do K12 provide laptops?
If you are eligible for a computer, you will receive either a laptop or desktop computer. The type of computer you receive depends on your school’s Computer Rules. Please know that K12 is unable to fulfill special requests for a laptop when your student qualifies for a desktop per the school’s Computer Rules.
