How long will it take to learn French for TEF?

Speaking in general, it takes at least 600 hours of study to get a language. I wish I could give you the source of that number of hours but I’ve known it for so long, I can’t remember. Now, I can’t tell you if 600 hours would give you enough language to take the TEF but it would certainly give you a head start.

It depends. Personally, as I dislike the test format of the TCF, and the DELF felt easier for me. However, some may not feel comfortable with writing an essay in French for the DELF. You’d also have to take a speaking test for the DELF, whereas the TCF has that optional.
